How To Claim Capture Points In Fortnite

New in Chapter 4, Fortnite Capture Points are a way to assert your dominance over a Point of Interest (POI) and receive benefits in return. Be the first to fly your Fortnite Banner at a Named Location, and it's yours. But how exactly do you claim a Capture Point in Fortnite.

Capture Points are a way to stamp your control over a POI. Claim a POI, and all Chests and opponents inside that POI will be clearly marked for a short duration. Plus, a bunch of loot will drop out of the Capture Point as soon as you raise your Banner to the top!

After claiming a Fortnite Capture Point, you'll receive a random assortment of the following weapons in Rare or Epic Rarity:

• Assault Rifle
• Red-Eye Assault Rifle
• Maven Auto Shotgun
• DMR
• Machine SMG
• Twin Mag SMG
• Tactical Pistol

Additionally, you'll be bombarded with a mixture of Meds, Materials, Ammo, and Gold Bars.

How To Claim A Capture Point In Fortnite

Each Named Location on the Island features a Capture Point. To begin claiming a POI, you must stand in the radius of the Capture Point. The Capture Point tower will start to slowly rise, notifying everyone in the surrounding area that the POI is in the process of being captured.

It takes 60 seconds to completely claim a POI with a Fortnite Capture Point. However, if enemy players contest the Capture Point, progress will be stalled. And if you abandon a Capture Point before you raise the tower and drop the Banners, opponents can wipe your progression and claim that POI for themselves. But once you successfully claim a Capture Point, the POI is yours for the rest of the match.
