How to complete 'A Veil of Gossamer Clouds' in Dragon's Dogma 2
'A Veil of Gossamer Clouds' is one of the more confusing quests in Dragon's Dogma 2, so avoid any of the headaches and find out how to complete it with ease.
While many quests in Dragon's Dogma 2 are vague and complicated - with the romance system being a headache in of itself - figuring out how to complete 'A Veil of Gossamer Clouds' is really rather tricky.
It features no location to head to in the open world and just a vague gesture towards figuring out the nature of a mysterious letter. Like everything in the game though, it can be solved - although it might take a little longer than you'd think!
How to investigate the intent behind the unfinished letter
You'll first want to make sure that you've completed 'The Caged Magistrate' so that Waldhar is now located in the old archive underneath the Gracious Hand, and then also complete 'A Magisterial Amenity' so that he has his glasses and can read properly.
Once you've done this, you can now take the letter to Waldhar for him to study, and he will reveal that it is somewhat of a love letter between Disa and Phaesus.
Waldhar will mention Battahl as a potential next destination, and that's exactly where we'll be heading. If you've not already been there, you'll need to obtain the Beastren Permit to pass through the border in the Checkpoint Rest Town, although this is a mandatory story element so it cannot be missed.
You'll want to reach Bakbattahl which is the capital city of the Battahl region, and head inside the palace and down to the Forbidden Research Lab. Walking past the large dead dragon, a cutscene with two workers should trigger where they're talking about incoming letters.
After the cutscene has finished, head inside the room that they were in which is at the back right of the main area, and inside on the table should be 'A Letter to Lord Phaesus'.
Open your inventory to 'read' this - although it doesn't give much in the way of information - and then return to Sven in the Vernworth Castle to give him the letter and complete the quest. You'll get 20,000 Gold and a Ferrystone as a reward, making this quest well worth the effort!
While many other things in Dragon's Dogma 2 aren't quite as confusing as this quest, you'll still definitely want to find out how to deal with Dragonsplague, where to find every Maister, and all of the Sphinx riddle answers that'll make your head hurt trying to figure out on your own.
