A lot of web slingers are wondering whether you can change the time of day in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, or if the option has been removed.

In the 2018 Spider-Man, changing the time of day required you to beat the game and head to a research centre, while Miles Morales just provided players with a useful toggle in the menus.

With Spider-Man 2 increasing the scope of the open world by adding Brooklyn and Queen to the map, it makes sense why players would want to switch between light and dark in an instant again, especially for getting incredible screenshots.

So, let's check out whether you can change the time of day in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, or if Insomniac have opted to keep the feature out of their latest game.

Is it possible to change the time of day in Spider-Man 2

No, you cannot manually change the time of day in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Despite this, the time of day does change automatically as you progress the story.

If a specific main story mission is set at night, the world will stay dark until you complete that objective.

So, there are ways of keeping the overall open world in a night or day setting, but it just requires you to reach specific missions in the main narrative.

At that point, just hold off on completing them for a while if you fancy web-slinging through NYC at night. We recommend this, as there's nothing better than completing a few side missions in a darker setting.

As Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales both have options to manually change the time after you've completed the game, it's possible Insomniac could add this feature as part of New Game Plus.

The devs have already confirmed that New Game Plus should be coming to Spider-Man 2 before the end of 2023, but details on what's included are thin on the ground at the moment.

A change-the-time feature in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 would certainly be appreciated by web slingers across the globe, but we'll just have to wait and see what Insomniac has in store for us.
