Armored Core 6 overburdened explained: Weight limit & how to fix
Becoming overburdened in Armored Core 6 is a weight limit issue that you will need to fix in order to play, but it is tricky to figure out exactly what you need to do.
Armored Core 6 is all about building the strongest mech you can, but there are limits to what you can equip.
Overburdened is as it sounds - a state in the game where your AC has too much to carry and cannot function. Here is everything you need to know about becoming overburdened in Armored Core 6 and how to fix it.
How to fix overburdened in Armored Core 6
There are two ways to deal with being overburdened in Armored Core 6, reduce weight or increase weight capacity. Reducing weight is simple, every part of your AC has a weight attached to it. By checking the weight of each of your parts, you can see which ones are causing the issues.
You might be carrying too many weapons, or your mech parts might be too heavy for your weight limit. Removing or changing these parts will reduce weight, but ideally, you want to have as many weapons as you can carry.
As such, you might want to increase your weight capacity instead. This is primarily done by upgrading your legs and your arms. The legs carry the weight of the AC, so having stronger ones will increase your carrying capacity. A strong base like a tetrapod or tank treads will be able to carry significantly more weaponry than regular or mobile-focused legs, usually at the cost of speed and or manoeuvrability.
The arms carry the weapons and as such a significant subset of the overall weight. You can build a big and strong AC, but if the arms are light and weak and you try to equip large, heavy weapons, you are going to have great difficulty.
If you are not sure which weight limit you are exceeding, press the Toggle Display button to bring up the full list of stats. There you can see your weight divided between arms and total. If you are under your total weight limit but exceeding your arms limit, you might need a lighter weapon or to beef up your arms.
As mentioned above, there is an OS upgrade that can help you circumvent the issue. The OS upgrade Weight Control allows you to sortie with an AC that is overburdened. It also allows you to drop weapons, which is a great way to drop weight once you start the mission.

What is overburdened in Armored Core 6?
When you try to put too much weight on your Armored Core, you will get an error notification telling you the AC is overburdened. You can overburden your mech, but unless you have a particular OS upgrade, you will not be able to go out on a mission with it.
If you look at your AC's stats, you will see that weight is one of them. It is denoted by a progress bar with an arrow marking a point somewhere along it. That arrow marks your AC's weight limit, and your progress on that bar is how heavy your AC is.
In short, you need that progress bar to be less than the arrow. It doesn't seem to matter by how much, so long as you are under the arrow you are meeting your weight requirements and your AC will not be overburdened.
