The Grand Theft Auto voice actors have found themselves as a real part of the game's community, and frankly, it's great to see.

It'd be easy to keep the GTA V protagonists on a pedestal, but as Franklin's actor Shawn Fonteno claims that streamer iShowSpeed should be a part of the next title, and Michael's Ned Luke simply can't believe the trailer's asses, it's clear that the jobs weren't a one-and-done.

As a result, players want to know who's responsible for the characters of the game. Still, as one voice acting legend has pointed out, many of their claims can be bogus.

Troy Baker clears up GTA confusion

Troy Baker might've made his name appearing in the likes of The Last of Us and Death Stranding, but he won't be in GTA 6. Baker has revealed that despite fan theories he's playing Lucia's partner in GTA 6, he isn't attached to the character.

Speaking with The Movie Dweeb, Baker commended the actors who take part in the GTA franchise, while keeping himself out of the conversation that he'll be playing GTA 6's second protagonist of the game - tipped to be called Jason.

"This is what's funny, and to be honest with you this was a great lesson for me, is the perception. That right there is a lesson in perception," he says. "So people think and they just automatically assume. And I want that guy, whoever it is, to get credit for his work 'cause I'm sure it's going to be great."

Baker continued, "I know many people who worked for Rockstar – Roger Clark and Ned Luke included. That's a grind, man, those guys pour themselves into those characters and they deserve all of the credit for their work ... not me."

Even if he were in GTA 6, Baker has made it clear that his enjoyment in being a voice actor stems from being able to deliver a brilliant performance without players identifying that it's him at all.

"It's the ones where people go, 'I had no idea that was you!'," says Baker. "Those are the ones that I go, 'I really did my job.' And this is no different."

He goes on to share that he's grateful for his roles, concluding, "The career that I've been able to have and the credits I've been able to amass and the characters that I've been able to play, it's by definition truly remarkable," so maybe it's okay if he gives GTA 6 a miss or simply isn't attached. Still, he could be having us on. Get theorising, folks.
