The iconic resurgence map Rebirth Island and a night-time variant of the current Al Mazrah map have both been found within the Warzone game files as upcoming Call of Duty maps, per a string of datamine leaks.

Rebirth Island, the Alcatraz remodel that featured in the original Warzone title, was sadly laid to rest as the sequel was rolled out, paving the way for more small-based battle royale maps such as Ashika Island and the upcoming Vondel.

But, it might not be the last that we see of the iconic and encapsulating design, as dataminers have now teased its return to the Warzone franchise, in some capacity, alongside a night-time Al Mazrah.

Despite a string of Warzone maps already in the works, including Vondel, the Sledgehammer Games 2023 full-scale arena, and Treyarch’s similarly large 2024 battleground, new datamines have revealed that Rebirth Island is coming back to the franchise.

According to popular Call of Duty site ModernWarzone, dataminers have found Rebirth Island codes that indicate the prison block will be re-released in the future, any time after Season 4.

As to where, and when, the jury is still out, as the leaks revealed little more information surrounding release windows, although the post-season 4 timeline could also be indicative of a Warzone: Mobile port too, joining Verdansk in its November release.

Alongside the Rebirth Island files, dataminers have reportedly found a night-time Al Mazrah LTM, which could be of a similar time frame to come around Halloween, akin to the Haunting of Verdansk mode.

Interestingly, players have also recently begun to find night-vision goggles in Ashika Island, which appears to be a bug, but could also infer that the Japanese-inspired island could be whisked into the darkness too.

It certainly seems like a good time to be a Warzone fanatic, with so much content coming this year, which will hopefully continue to revive the Call of Duty battle royale experience.
