Fans of Helldivers 2 are still having a great time with the co-operative shooter, diving onto desolate planets and tearing them asunder in the name of clearing out the Automaton menace. But some are starting to see the cracks form.

Helldivers 2 obviously isn't a perfect game, and it's especially unfair to presume it is with Arrowhead Game Studios' outpouring of content. Still, with visual bugs and some frustrating balancing that led to many players’ favourite weapons being left by the wayside, troubles are on the rise.

Now, as the game's team stays staunch on one feature that won't come to the game, players are growing frustrated.

Heldivers 2 boss says transmogrified armour isn't coming

Heldivers have been building their armour collections nicely since the game launched, and depending on their favoured playstyle, there's probably a bodysuit that suits them nicely. There's one issue players are having with their cosmetics, and it comes down to the war between function and looking like a badass.

Fans are asking Arrowhead Game Studios to introduce the ability to transmogrify their armour, allowing them to wear the suits that suit their style but keep the bonuses that their unlocked armour allows. Unfortunately, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt isn't buying the benefits of the feature.

Responding to one fan's suggestion, Pilestedt says quite frankly, "We are not doing transmog. It doesn't make sense - equipment looks different because it has different effects. Swapping one for the other is like having an apple that tastes like bacon or the other way around."

Fans are upset about the reveal - and they're starting to lash out.

One Reddit user has taken to the Helldivers 2 subreddit to express their frustration with the reveal - and others are flooding the replies with their own irritations. "CD Projekt Red learned this lesson with CP2077," reads one comment.

"It's not super fun to tie cosmetics and abilities cause mode players will just use what is most efficient and be sad they can't make their character look how they want. Granted that is a single player roleplaying game but for Helldivers’ spectacle is a BIG part of the game. Having your character look cool just makes the game that much more fun."

Another added, "Not wanting to add transmog for the sake of not wanting to add transmog is fine. It's their game. Not wanting to add transmog because of a reason that doesn't hold any merit though is less fine."

It's a major source of upset for fans, and it's pretty lucky that players don't have much else to worry about in Helldivers 2. It's still annoying, and once again, it seems looking like a badass has ruined our day.
