Who are we to judge Rockstar Games and its money-making tactics? Let's be honest, it's working. A decade after GTA V raced out of the garage, it's the most profitable entertainment product of all time - thanks mainly to the continued success of GTA Online.

After Rockstar underwhelmingly confirmed GTA 6 and we look ahead to its eventual release, there are questions about whether GTA Online 2 is on the way akin to Activision's Warzone 2. While there are sure to be changes, Rockstar's ability to make bank will undoubtedly be the same.

If you're a regular to San Andreas, you'll know there's an impressive garage stocked with some weird and wonderful vehicles. Although the likes of the Space Docker or Invade and Persuade Tank can be taken as a bit of fun, there are some quicky vehicles you genuinely despise.

It's no secret that GTA Online players hate the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II - who would've thought a hoverbike with homing missiles would p*ss you off so much? These days, the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II is largely used a way to troll others, mainly because Rockstar has refused to nerf it.

In the latest Newswire, Rockstar has confirmed that the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II has seen an in-game price bump from $3,890,250 to $8,000,000. The hike is effective immediately, meaning the maligned mode of transport has doubled its cost.

Rockstar simply writes, "Conversely, some vehicles with outsized utility, performance, or powerful weaponry will see their prices increased — such as the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II." Sticking a premium price tag on the hated vehicle is a clever way to price out griefers, but it hasn't gone down well.

Players react to Pegassi Oppressor Mk II price hike

When the news was shared on Reddit, others wasted no time in making their feelings clear. One disgruntled gamer raged, "It's too late now all the tryhards have one already. All they're doing is making it harder for new players to be evenly matched."

Another added, "I don't like how people are just accepting these price hikes, heist readjustments and making em harder, longer cool downs. What's next?" A third said, "4 years too late 😪."

There is a solution though, someone else reminded us, "Best defense against this........invite only sessions....." Another questioned why anyone would be playing public lobbies in 2023, showing that there are ways to avoid the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II. Well, it's not like we can afford one now.
