Barely out a month, God of War Ragnarok is already topping game of the year lists, and it's clear to see why.

There was speculation that Santa Monica Studio wouldn't be able to beat its masterful reboot of the hack-and-slash series, but it somehow managed to create a story that's even more devastating, complex, and gnarly than the first title. They're just showing off at this point.

The most dedicated God of War fans have absolutely devoured Ragnarok, with some going in for a second helping - but it looks like players might want to hold off, because a new feature is set to land in 2023 - which will make replays all the more satisfying.

God of War: Ragnarok Is Getting A New Game+ Mode

A new tweet from Sony Santa Monica Studio itself has revealed that a new feature is coming to God of War Ragnarok that's going to make the most intense series fans very happy next year.

It has been revealed that New Game+ mode is coming. It's an increasingly popular feature in gaming that allows players to take on the title all over again, with the stats and weapons that they accrued in their first playthrough from the get-go.

"We know many of you have been asking, so we’re happy to confirm that New Game Plus will be coming to #GodofWarRagnarok in Spring 2023!" reads the tweet from Santa Monica Studio. "We'll share more details once we get closer to the release!"

Fans are excited for the new mode - but in the replies, there's only one question on players' lips.

Fans Want Kratos' Fur Coat In The Core Game Of Ragnarok

Even though many players have made themselves present in the reveal's replies, a lot of them have only one thing on their minds - when are players going to get to wear Kratos' fur coat?

The coat is worn by Kratos at the beginning of the game to brace the winter, and is a popular addition to the God of War's drip. Sadly, players can't equip it themselves once it comes off.

Fans are loud about it in the replies, and are desperate to see the item added to Kratos' armoury. Fur coat or no, the Ragnarok New Game+ is a great addition that's going to amplify the replayability tenfold. Though we'd quite like to be cosy as we do it, Santa Monica Studio. Just to be clear.
