God of War Ragnarok is right around the corner, and from early reactions, it seems like it's going to be a game for the ages. Its 2018 predecessor redefined how players saw Kratos, with the game exploring his relationship with his (mostly annoying) son Atreus, and his conflict with his past.

Now, and the concluding chapter in Norse mythology looks to take that even further in the face of total cataclysm. Fans are expecting a truly next-gen experience from this title, and as it seems so far, it looks like the title. is going to be coming through with some pretty impressive framerates.

Will God Of War Ragnarok Run At 120 FPS?

Previews of the game are now rife, as critics are getting their hands God of War Ragnarok and experiencing its long-awaited narrative. They're confirming some pretty maddening settings.

According to Press Start, Ragnarok has four different settings for visuals, with each choosing to favour graphical detail and performance. They are as follows:

  • Favour Resolution – 4K/30FPS Locked
  • Favour Performance – 60 FPS Locked
  • Favour Resolution (High Frame Rate) – 4K/40FPS Locked
  • Favour Performance  (High Frame Rate) – Targeting 120 FPS

It's pretty amazing that the game can boast 120 FPS, a goal that many rivals have aimed for and failed to reach.

When Is God Of War Ragnarok Coming Out?

It's almost hard to believe, but finally, God of War Ragnarok is truly close now, meaning we can't wait to take Kratos' latest (and possibly last) adventure out for a spin ourselves. The game is officially launching on November 9, so it's only a matter of weeks before the final chapter in the rebooted God of War saga is upon us.

To be honest, we're not sure we're ready to say goodbye to Midgard just yet, let alone the idea that Kratos could finally kick the bucket for good.  The new expedition with Kratos and Atreus is about to begin, and with some pretty impressive framerates to go with it, too. Nerds, your time is now. Enjoy it.
