It's true — courtesy of Fortnite Bownanza Week, bows are back in Fortnite. This special themed week gives players the opportunity to wield some of Fortnite's relics of the past for a limited time. This guide will overview Fortnite Bownanza Week, including where to find bows, how to complete the Bownanza Week quests, and more.

Fortnite Bownanza Week features four unique types of bows:

  • Primal Flame Bows
  • Primal Stink Bows
  • Mechanical Explosive Bows
  • Mechanical Shockwave Bows

All of these bows were prominent members of the Fortnite loot pool in Chapter 2 Season 6: Primal. Now, Fortnite Bownanza Week allows players to wield these iconic weapons once more.

All four Fortnite bow variants will appear across the island in Chests and as floor loot. Unlike back in Chapter 2 Season 6, you can no longer craft bows. To use a bow, you'll need arrows, which are found in Ammo Boxes.

You'll be able to find and equip these bows up until March 1, 2022, at 1:59pm GMT, at which point they will once again be lost to the past.

As is the case with most notable Fortnite events, Bownanza Week comes loaded with a fresh set of five themed quests. The Bownanza Week challenges are as follows:

  • Hit IO forces using Primal Flame Bow (7)
  • Impulse wildlife using a Mechanical Shockwave Bow in different matches (2)
  • Damage Players using a Primal Stink Bow (250)
  • Eliminate opponents using a Mechanical Explosive Bow (3)
  • Hunt Wildlife using a bow (3)

All in all, you'll need to use the four different bow variants to hunt down IO forces, wildlife, and enemy players.

Fortnite Covert Cavern and around Fortnite computer terminals and Mole Team Drill Sites are the primary locations to hunt down IO forces.

When it comes to wildlife:

  • Wolves like to travel in packs throughout the Grasslands biome, particularly in the area surrounding The Daily Bugle point of interest.
  • Chickens tend to stick to the Grasslands and the Desert biomes
  • Boars inhabit the Grasslands and Snow Biomes
  • Frogs linger along the island's riverbanks
  • Sharks can be found in every lake or ocean around the island

And as we all know, enemy players can be anywhere at any time. The Team Rumble playlist offers the least perilous method of engaging with human opponents as you won't lose your Fortnite bows upon elimination.

Each Bownanza quest you complete will award you with 8,000 XP. In total, you can earn up to 40,000 XP through the Fortnite Bownanza Week challenges.

Fortnite Bownanza Week is just the first in a series of upcoming themed weeks called "Wild Weeks". Past seasons of Fortnite have featured fire-themed weeks, fish-themed weeks, sneak-themed weeks, and much more. Look out for yet another brand-new Fortnite Wild Week starting March 1 at 2pm GMT, the moment Fortnite Bownanza Week ends.
