Finding the best heat and flame-resistant gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will go a long way to helping you succeed, as eventually, you won't be able to progress much further in the game without it. Regions like Death Mountain and the Gerudo Desert will be impossible to explore without the proper equipment.

There is both heat and flame-resistant gear in this game, so in order to explore everything the world has to offer, you will need both. Luckily we have outlined the location of both heat resistance and flame resistant gear below.

Where can you get heat-resistant gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

If you want to explore the vast Gerudo Desert, you will need to know how to cool off. Unfortunately, the clothes you want to wear while exploring Gerudo are only really found in the Gerudo Desert, so we will need a workaround.

There are many meals and elixirs you can take to grant heat resistance for a time, and these can get you to Gerudo Town in a pinch. Also, travelling at night is a great way to avoid the heat of the sun. That said, there is a much more reliable method, one that almost removes the need for heat-resistant clothes entirely.

If you manage to pick up a sapphire while mining, you can combine it with a stick or a sword to make an ice weapon. Just having this weapon on your back will be enough to keep you cool all throughout the Gerudo Desert. Now, it does limit your combat ability somewhat, so it might be an idea to pick up some heat-resistant clothes as well.

These can be purchased on the road to Gerudo Town at the Kara Kara Bazaar. To find it, just follow the road that leads to Gerudo Town, and you will encounter the Bazaar on your left, just before you hit the sandstorm. Go to Saula's stall to purchase the Desert Voe Headband for 450 Rupees, and you will be able to explore free from the heat.

Saula will tell you that the rest of the heat-resistant armour set can be purchased from a secret store in Gerudo Town. When you get to the town first, you will find it deserted. As you come in the main gate, drop down into the well on your left.

To your right, you will see some breakable rocks. Smash through those, and continue down this corridor to the left. Climb up and smash some more rocks, then head into the room on the left. Use Ascend here to enter the secret shop where the rest of the heat-resistant armour set can be purchased. The items are:

  • Desert Voe Spaulder: 1,300 Rupees
  • Desert Voe Trousers: 650 Rupees.

Keep in mind, that you don't need the full set at all just to explore the region, just the headband will do.

Where can you get fire-resistant gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Fire-resistant gear is much more intensive, but you will need it if you want to explore the hottest parts of Eldin, Death Mountain and the realm of the Gorons. Thankfully, getting your hands on it is a lot less difficult than the heat-resistant armour of Gerudo. For the hottest places in Hyrule, you need the Flamebreaker armour set.

The entire set, the helmet, armour, and boots, can all be purchased at the armour shop in Goron City. Unlike Gerudo Town, you do not need any environmental protection to reach Goron City. Since Breath of the Wild, the temperature in Goron City has dropped, largely due to the absence of a giant robotic lizard throwing fireballs at random. As such, you can visit Goron City any time without the fear of spontaneous combustion.

  • Flamebreaker Helm costs: 1,400 Rupees
  • Flamebreaker Armour costs: 700 Rupees
  • Flamebreaker Boots cost: 1,200 Rupees.

That is it for the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom heat-resistant and fire-resistant gear. For more on the game, check out how to get & how to use Epona in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
