You'll want to know how to get Climbing Gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as it's a powerful piece of armor that makes scaling the sides of mountains and cliffs way easier by allowing you to climb at a faster speed.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, fashion is more about just looking good, and many armor pieces will provide useful benefits that make your adventure easier. With such a huge game world to explore though, it can be hard to find pieces like the Climbing Gear.

So, check out how to get the Climbing Gear in Tears of the Kingdom, where we cover the map location and process for getting there.

To find the Climbing Gear in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re going to need to head to the North Hyrule Plain Cave. The best way to get there is to head West from Lookout Landing.

The map coordinates for North Hyrule Plain Cave are -1188, 0642, 0072. We've marked it with a red pin on the map above

Eventually, you will reach the Carok Bridge, where a sleeping Hinox is blocking your way like a slumbering Snorlax. Make quick work of the Hinox and continue onwards to the cave.

Once inside, you’re going to need to follow some steps to get to the climbing gear:

  • The first room you enter has two Like Likes. Kill them quickly by attacking the weak spot in their mouths. If they munch on you, they will steal a weapon from your pockets, so be careful.
  • Once they are defeated, use your Ascend Rune Ability on the overhanging ledge one of the Like Likes was attached to get to the next room.
  • Swim across the river to reach the next path, and continue upwards until you cross a rocky bridge.
  • You will see a waterfall with some glowing Brightcaps behind it (you see where this is going)
  • Swim behind the waterfall and you will find the chest with the Climbing Gear inside.

If you continue through the cave, you’ll encounter a Bubbulfrog which will drop a Bubbul Gem upon defeat. There is also a hole in the ceiling acting as an alternative entrance/exit to the other side of the cave.

And that’s it! You’ll now be able to climb faster and quickly deal with those pesky slippery surfaces.

That’s everything you need to find the Climbing Gear in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! If you’re looking for more fashion options, why not check out our guide on finding Rubber Armor as well?
