Xbox Game Pass has been a revelation for many people, allowing them access to hundreds of games and even brand-new ones for a relatively cheap monthly price. If you have friends who are also interested in trying Game Pass but haven't made the jump yet, you now have the chance to refer a friend.

So, take a look at how to share Xbox Game Pass with friends on console & PC.

How to share Xbox Game Pass with friends

If you want to know how to share Xbox Game Pass with friend, you'll first need to check what version of Game Pass you have.

The friend referral program is only available to people with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. If you have one of these subscriptions, you will be able to invite up to five friends to try a 14-day free PC Game Pass trial, though they must not be a previous subscriber

There are two main ways to refer your friend to Xbox Game Pass, with the first requiring a couple of button presses.

  • Navigate to the Xbox Game Pass home screen.
  • Locate the "Give PC Game Pass" button.
  • Press it and choose who you want to share a code with.

The other method of sharing Xbox Game Pass with friends on console & PC requires you to first go to the friend referral section of the Xbox website

  • From the website linked above, sign into your Xbox account.
  • Locate the five available codes and claim them.
  • Copy a code and send it to your friend.
  • They will then have 30 days to redeem the trial.

Once a friend has successfully redeemed the trial, they will have full access to Xbox Game Pass for 14 days. After using your five referrals, you won't get any more until January 1, when they reset.
