Fortnite is one of the most popular games of all time, but what developer made it, and who was the director?

Fortnite was first released in 2017 and has gone on to near unprecedented success, boasting millions of users every day. It has also become a sandbox where you can see characters interact in ways you never thought possible; you can see Spider-Man take on the Predator and many more.

The game is a Battle Royale that sees players dropping out of a bus and hopefully becoming the last person standing of 100 people - you can play with other people in a squad or by yourself.

Here is all you need to know about who made Fortnite, as well as who is credited as the director of the game.

Who developed Fortnite?

Fortnite was developed by Epic Games, who famously built the Unreal Engine. The engine has been recently used for games such as Lords of the Fallen and Immortals of Aveum.

Epic don’t often make games, with the Epic Store and the engine being the main focus of the company's efforts. The team behind Fortnite not only built the game, but consistently kept it updated over time.

Who is the Director of Fortnite?

Tim Sweeney is credited as the director of Epic Games at the time that Fortnite was developed, he is also the founder. However, the development of Fortnite is down to the hundreds of people who work at Epic Games, from the design team to the people in marketing. These are the same people who keep Fortnite updated with regular seasons and content constantly released.

How to look at the Fortnite credits?
