There are 385 tracks in total in the main game, and they are split into three different categories. Battle Music Stages (BMS) are where you fight enemies that arrive in waves to the tempo of the music.

Alternatively, you can also play Field Music Stages (FMS), which are more on the relaxing and low-tempo side, set to some of Square Enix's most beautiful landscapes. Finally, you can play Event Music Stages (EMS), which recreate some of each game's most famous moments that you will hopefully recognise.
