Heirlooms are one such way to do that, as these items are required to be found to progress further through the Kingdom. Anake’s Shawl is one of the first Heirlooms you will acquire in Rogue Legacy 2, it can be acquired during the introduction of the game. Regardless, it is found at a statue in Citadel Agartha, so keep an eye out if you haven’t grabbed it yet. Interact with the statue and complete the challenge to gain the power. Anake’s Shawl allows players to dash while in midair, which is extremely useful for platforming and dodging enemy attacks. It is also required to access the Estuary Lamech boss room.

The Aesop’s Tome Heirloom can be acquired from another statue in Citadel Agartha. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you find a statue that likes to fat shame you. You will be transported to another challenge room, beat the challenge to gain the Heirloom. This one is a bit different, as Aesop’s Tome allows you to read Memories and calm Nightmares. These are the little wisps you see around the Kingdom, which give useful tips and plenty of lore.

  • The items you can pick up during your runs through Rogue Legacy 2 are known as Relics, and we have everything you need to know about them in our Rogue Legacy 2 Relics guide.

Rogue Legacy 2 Heirlooms: Echo’s Boots

The Echo’s Boots are a tricky Heirloom that have confused many a player. They can be acquired almost as soon as you reach Axis Mundi, and are generally needed to progress further into the region. When you first reach Axis Mundi, you will go down a ramp and out through a gate. There you will find a large gap ahead, with a torch you can Spin Kick off of. Without a few extra jumps, you aren’t likely to be able to clear the gap.

If you return to the previous room, you will see there are a series of lanterns above that can be used to get to the top right corner of the room. The door there will bring you to a tower, climb the inside of the tower to the top and jump down on the left side to reach the Heirloom statue. The Echo’s Boots give you the ability to Spin Kick off of Resonant platforms, and also resets your Air Dash when you perform a Spin Kick.

The Aether’s Wings Heirloom gives the player a second jump permanently. To get to the Aether’s Wings you need the Echo’s Boots. At the end of the Far Shores in Kerguelen Plateau, you can use Spin Kicks to cross the water. Head across, and you will find the statue for the Heirloom, interact with it to enter the challenge. Double jump your way to the end and the Heirloom will be yours.

Rogue Legacy 2 Heirlooms: Void Bell

The Void Bell is another Heirloom that is very useful for platforming. It turns your Dash into the Void Dash. This makes your dash even longer, it becomes cancellable, and it can be used to dodge straight through Void attacks. The Void Bell can be found randomly in the Stygian Study region, so keep an eye out for it. This Heirloom is very important because it is required to access many areas in the Sun Tower and Pishon Dry Lake. It is also pretty much necessary for some boss fights so be certain to seek it out.

The last Heirloom is the Sun Lantern, and it is required to access the Pishon Dry Lake. To get it, you need to defeat Estuary Irad in the Sun Tower. Once that is done, head to the Pishon Dry Lake region beneath Citadel Agartha. You will meet the Nameless Knight just inside, and he will give you the Sun Lantern. It increases your light radius and allows you to traverse the region.

Those are all of the Rogue Legacy 2 Heirlooms and what you need to do to get them. For more on the game, why not check out our Rogue Legacy 2 Biomes guide.
