If you're hoping to catch a Grookey in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, here's everything you need to know to find one and evolve it into Thwackey and Rillaboom.

Although Grookey's final evolution Rillaboom previously appeared in a limited-time Tera Raid event, the whole family are now available to encounter inside the Terarium in The Indigo Disk. This means you can finally get all three added to your Pokedex collection.

Grookey can be found on the southeastern side of the Coastal Biome.

Before you can encounter a Grookey, though, you'll need to donate 3,000 BP to the Terarium Club so they can increase the kinds of Pokemon available in the Coastal Biome.

You can donate by interacting with the computer in the League Club Room, but be warned that 3,000 BP is quite a lot to save up! You're going to need to grind loads of Blueberry Quests to get here, but you can speed the process up by completing them with friends.

Once you've expanded the Coastal Biome's range of Pokemon, you can encounter Grookey on the beaches at the southeastern corner of this area. Compared to other starters like Mudkip, I found Grookey quite easy to locate, so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting one.

How to evolve Grookey into Thwackey

To evolve Grookey into Thwackey, you'll need to raise it to Level 16.

If the Grookey you've caught is already above this level - which is most likely going to be the case in The Indigo Disk's Terarium - simply raise it by one more level and it will evolve straight away.

How to evolve Thwackey into Rillaboom

Thwackey will evolve into Rillaboom once it hits Level 35. You can do this by training it in battle or, if you'd rather speed up the process, give it Exp. Candies or a Rare Candy.

Similar to the previous stage, if you've got a Thwackey that's already above Level 35, you'll just need to raise it by one level to get it to evolve into Rillaboom.

That's everything you need to know about Grookey! Visit our Pokemon Scarlet & Violet homepage for more guides like the upcoming Tera Raid events schedule and the latest Mystery Gift codes.
