Fans of the second Paper Mario game are in for a treat, as a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster is officially heading to Nintendo Switch. This new version of the game features enhanced graphics with the classic gameplay fans know and love.

This came as a surprise in an already very Mario-filled Nintendo Direct on September 14, 2023. Without further ado, here's everything we know about the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster so far.

As of MAR10 day (that's March 10 to most of us), we know that the Thousand-Year Door remaster will finally arrive on May 23, 2024.

Check out the reveal below, which also gives an update on Luigi's Mansion 2 HD.

That means at the time of writing we're just a couple of months from replaying what is considered the best Paper Mario title.

Trailers

A trailer for the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster was shown off at the Nintendo Direct on September 14th, 2023. It features a pretty varied look at the game, showing off the new enhanced graphics.

It also confirms that the gameplay will remain the same, with no new content shown off as far as we can tell. It appears to be a faithful remaster of the original game which was released back on the Nintendo Gamecube in 2004.

This remaster follows the Metroid Prime and Pikmin franchise re-releases on Switch this year. Gamecube fans have been eating very well recently, but we're still waiting for something F-Zero. Come on, Nintendo!

That is it for everything we know about the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster. For more, head to our Nintendo homepage where you can get all the latest news on Mario, Luigi, Peach, and more.
