Is One Piece Odyssey Multiplayer?
Are you wondering if One Piece Odyssey is playable in multiplayer? One Piece Odyssey will be featuring its own original story and a glorious new island to explore called Waford. Is One Piece Odyssey Co-Op?
Click to enlargeLike previous entries of the One Piece franchise this generation such as World Seeker, One Piece Odyssey doesn't feature any kind of multiplayer or co-op. One Piece Odyssey is purely a single-player title as you experience the all-new narrative and find Luffy's scattered crewmates around the island.
"It's pretty much a self-contained story separate from the main story in both the manga and the anime," said the game's producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki to Anime News Network. "When it comes to RPG games, the main emphasis is the story and I think a lot of people are looking for a very grand story experience."
Other than the Borderlands series and a few other co-op franchises like Destiny, the story is usually not the main focus of a multiplayer game. With One Piece Odyssey being single-player, there will be fewer distractions, letting players be fully immersed in the world. Despite the game being one-player only, there are many characters you can play as, including Luffy, Tony Tony Chopper, and Nico Robin, among many other members of the Straw Hat Crew.
With this amount of characters available to play, who knows? Maybe a multiplayer update could come in the form of an official free update or a fan-made mod.

Are There Any One Piece Multiplayer Games?

Despite One Piece Odyssey and One Piece: World Seeker not being multiplayer experiences, that doesn't mean there are no multiplayer games based on the long-running anime series.
One Piece: Burning Blood can be played online, although it doesn't have local support. It's an arena fighter that have you play as both the good guys and the villains in the series. It's available on PS4, Xbox One, Vita, and PC, but be warned, the game doesn't support crossplay.
Additionally, you can check out One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4. They're games that play similarly to the Warriors franchise. You take down waves of enemies and eliminate bosses along the way. The format can be quite repetitive, but each move feels powerful against your foes, giving you a rush of adrenaline.
