Ogerpon mask forms explained: All forms in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Teal Mask DLC

The Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduces a unique mechanic for its ‘box-art’ Grass-type Legendary, Ogerpon - and it introduces new mask forms for the pocket monster.

Ogerpon has four mask forms depending on the mask it's wearing. Each mask will change its typing and give it a unique Terastal Form when it Terastallizes.

There are four different masks in The Teal Mask: The Wellness Mask, the Hearthflame Mask, The Cornerstone Mask and, you guessed it, The Teal Mask.

Pokemon Teal Mask DLC Ogerpon Mask Forms: What do they do?

These four mask forms allow you to tailor Ogerpon’s typing, ability and Terastallized ability. You can swap forms by equipping the mask as a Held Item.

Here’s what each mask does:

The Teal Mask

If Ogerpon isn’t holding a Mask, it’ll revert to its base Teal Mask form. When it wears the Teal Mask, it’ll be a pure Grass-type Pokemon that is said to bring life back to any withered green surrounding it.

Usually, Teal Mask Ogerpon has the Defiant ability, which boosts any stat that is lowered by an opposing Pokemon. However, when Terastalised, Ogerpon’s heart fills with memories, causing the Teal Mask to shine and its Speed stat to be boosted with its Embody Aspect ability.

The Wellspring Mask

By drawing on the power of water through the Wellspring Mask, Ogerpon absorbs a secondary Water-typing, making it Grass/Water.

When wearing the Wellspring Mask, Ogerpon will have the Water Absorb ability which means that whenever it is hit by a Water-type move, it’ll restore its HP. When it Terastalises, it’ll boost its Special Defense via Embody Aspect.

The Hearthflame Mask

The Hearthflame Mask lets Ogerpon turn a candle's flame into raging infernos. It turns the normally kind-spirited Legendary into a Grass/Fire-type raging monster, boosting its Attack when Terastalised. Without Terastalising, it has the Mold Breaker ability, which ignores the abilities of rival Pokemon.

The Cornerstone Mask

Ogerpon unlocks the power of stone when wearing the Cornerstone Mask, gaining a secondary Rock type boosting Defense when Terastalised. It gains the ability Sturdy, meaning Ogerpon can’t be OHKO’d.
