No Man's Sky Solar Ships are the newest starships that have been added in the recently released update 3.85, the latest patch for the long-running space simulation title. No Man's Sky has seen a tonne of new content updates since its tumultuous launch back in August 2016, but over time it's become more feature-complete, with players celebrating Hello Game's unlikely comeback story. So, whether you're jumping in for the first time or returning for the new patch, here's everything you need to know about the No Man's Sky Solar Ships.

No Man's Sky Solar Ships: What Is The New Update?

Update 3.85 is the latest update for No Man's Sky, subtitled Outlaws, which adds a lot of new content such as outlaw systems, the option to recruit a squadron of pilots, improved space combat, the Solar Sail Starship, and much more. It aims to give players more options with how they spend their time, letting you run smuggling jobs with contraband and become a pirate lord with your own squad of fighters. On top of this, there are some optimisations and bug fixes, making the game run smoother on platforms. For more info on the update, check out the official trailer above or the patch notes here

One of the biggest parts of this new update is the Solar Ships, which is a new class of starship that is specialised in long-distance travel across the universe. You can find many versions of this ship thanks to the game's procedurally generated content, but it is more common in outlaw systems. There are also unique technologies for the Solar Ships which can be found and equipped for certain benefits.

Another feature that benefits all starships, is the increased cargo inventory size, which can be upgraded at salvage stations, allowing you to haul even more during your missions. With the addition of the Solar Ships, players can also now have nine saved ships instead of the previous six, letting you collect a wider cast of ships with different purposes and advantages.

That's all for what we know about the No Man's Sky Solar Ships, and now you have an idea of some content in the latest update along with the new Starships.

No Man's Sky might be about exploring the outer edges of space (often by yourself), so if you want to get stuck in among potentially hundreds of players, why not check out the best battle royale games.
