Similar to Tactical Equipments, you can unlock Lethal Equipment in Modern Warfare 2 by progressing your Rank in the Multiplayer mode. You can do it by playing matches, getting kills, assists, capturing areas, and other similar things. When you reach Rank 4 in Modern Warfare 2, you will unlock the Loadout feature that allows you to create custom Loadouts where you can also select the Lethal Equipment of your choice, granted you have it unlocked.
