Dolphin Dive, aka Dive to Prone, mechanic is finally returning to the Call of Duty franchise with Modern Warfare 2. We have already tried it during the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta weekend. If you plan on diving into Modern Warfare 2, you must know how to Dolphin Dive in Modern Warfare 2. While it is not an advanced movement mechanic like the Slide Cancel, it is a manoeuvre that comes in handy in many situations. You can use it for diving to a cover, diving through windows to avoid animation that may get you killed, outperforming opponents and other practical use. So keep reading our how to Dolphin Dive in Modern Warfare 2 guide for more details.

You can perform a Dolphin Dive in Modern Warfare 2 by moving in any direction and holding the Crouch button. Moreover, you can perform a better version of Dolphin Dive by pressing and holding the crouch button while in Sprint mode, and it is as simple as that.

There are only two actions involved while performing a Dolphin Dive in MW2; these are:

  • Move/Sprint in any direction.
  • Hold the Crouch button.

Whereas if you want to perform Slide in Modern Warfare 2, you have to press the Crouch button while moving or sprinting in any direction. If you are using the default key bindings or controller layout, you can perform the Sprint action by pressing and holding the L3 button on your DualSense controller and the Circle button for Crouch.

Similarly, on Xbox, you must press the left analogue stick for Sprint and the B button for Crouch. On PC, the Shift key will let you Sprint, while the 'C' key on your keyboard will allow you to perform the Crouch action.

The movement mechanics like Slide Cancel, Dolphin Dive, Sliding, and others can make you a mechanically better Call of Duty player. These movements allow players to outperform others in certain situations and make traversing the various game maps a little safe, as your hitbox will follow an erratic motion, making it hard for other players to kill you instantly.

That is it. This concludes our guide on how to perform Dolphin Dive in Modern Warfare 2. For more Modern Warfare 2 guides, be sure to keep reading GGRecon.
