The first of the Modern Warfare 2 assault rifles is the Chimera. Unlocked at level four when Create-A-Class becomes available. Not to be confused with the weird Black Ops 2 four-round burst Chicom, the Chimera shares a name with the adored mythological beast, but does the opening AR pack the same punch as the ancient greek fire-breathing lion-goat? Well, it might not be the "goat" of MW2, but you’d be rude to turn your nose up at this solid shooter. Here’s all you need to know about the best MW2 Chimera class attachments and perks.

Best MW2 Chimera Class Attachments

The best MW2 Chimera attachments have yet to have been revealed, but we can already assume that there's quite a lot to be desired in its speed and initial accuracy.

Given that the assault rifle favours mid-short ranges, you might be best served to get used to the opening attachments that favour initial recoil, accuracy, ADS time, and sprint-to-fire time.

Best MW2 Chimera Class Perks And Equipment

This assault rifle is a little less “sentinel” than many of the others, so you can be quite varied in your approach to the best Chimera perks and equipment. We’ll start with the secondary weapon though, and unless you’re that player, the X13 pistol should be your go-to for quick swap  As per usual, you can’t go wrong with a frag and a flashbang, given that stims are pretty useless this time around.

Moving on to the perks, your best Chimera class will want Double Time and Scavenger. The added speed and ammo recovery make that a no-brainer. Given the nature of an AR, Focus is recommended in Perk 2, now that Quick Fix has been moved, which is coincidentally the best pick for Perk 3 too, especially as the game becomes more frantic in the closing exchanges. Finally, Dead Silence is the best field upgrade and an essential piece of kit if you like to move around.

  • Secondary - X13
  • Tactical - Flash Grenade
  • Lethal - Frag
  • Perk 1 - Double Time & Scavenger
  • Perk 2 - Focus
  • Perk 3 - Quick Fix
  • Field Upgrade - Dead Silence

The Chimera might not be the best AR in the game, but it's needed to get your hands on the mastery camos, and it's not a bad gun once you’ve levelled it up.
