The importance of the Modern Warfare 2 Operators list has heightened already, in comparison to previous years, given that the third-person mode will highlight the skin purchases and serve as a ruse to lure you into new bundles. But skins aren't too much of a problem so far, so who are we going to be able to play is in Modern Warfare 2? And, are there any familiar faces in the Modern Warfare 2 Operator list? Well, here's all you need to know about MW2 Operators, Factions, and bundles.

Modern Warfare 2 Operators List

Upon the launch of Modern Warfare 2, there will be a maximum of 25 MW2 Operators, although four will come as part of a bundle and one will be a PlayStation exclusive for now.

Split into two 'Factions', the Operators list comes with a variety of new faces, some standard Mil-Sim skins, and returning heroes from series instalments gone by.

Modern Warfare 2 Operator Factions

The two Factions will separate good and evil, and will serve as the two teams within the Modern Warfare 2 games. Depending on which team you have selected as your 'favourite' will determine which operator will be used in the menu screens and within free-for-all playlists (including Gun Game, if it is included in MW2), while factions on team-based playlists (Hardpoint, Domination etc.) will be randomised.

Gus, Konig, Zimo, and Kleo will be joined by Red Team 141's lineup as part of the SPECGRU faction, while Fender, Hutch, Horangi, and Nova will form KORTAC. Both the Modern Warfare 2 Operator Factions of SPECGRU and KORTAC will revive skins throughout the year, to build on their popularity.

Modern Warfare 2 Red Team 141 Operators

It wouldn't be a Modern Warfare title without Task Force 141, and they're back in full thanks to the Red Team 141 Operator bundle.

Achieved through pre-ordering the Vault Edition of MW2, Red Team 141 includes:

  • Captain John Price
  • Sergeant "Soap" MacTavish
  • Simon "Ghost" Riley
  • Farah Karim

The usual faces of the Modern Warfare series and Farah, who played a pivotal part in the 2019 campaign, will all be joining the Modern Warfare 2 Operator faction of SPECGRU, confirming these as the 'good guys'.

While KORTAC might come as the baddies, and it will be no surprise to see some of the campaign antagonists land in this faction, they will be expanded in future updates when more Modern Warfare 2 Operators are added.
