How to get free Jackie skin in Fortnite Rocket Racing
The Jackie skin is a free reward you can get for participating in Fortnite's Rocket Racing mode. While unlocking Jackie requires you to play Rocket Racing, you can use the outfit in other Fortnite experiences, too!
This primer details exactly how to get the Jackie skin for free, plus other goodies, in the new arcade racer from Psyonix and Epic Games.
How to get the free Jackie skin in Fortnite Rocket Racing
To get the Jackie Outfit for free in Fortnite Rocket Racing, you must achieve Gold in Ranked Racing mode.
At the time of writing, you'll receive the Jackie skin after you complete a race at Gold 2. However, that's an unintended bug. In a future update, Epic Games will lower the requirement to Gold 1.
But the Jackie skin isn't the only free item you can unlock simply by playing Rocket Racing. You'll get the Dieselback Pack Back Bling after completing 10 races, and you can earn decals for the Octane by finishing the Season Zero Kickoff Quests.
Also, as you climb the ranks, you'll unlock additional decals and new colours for the OEM Wheels.
How to rank up in Fortnite Rocket Racing
Click to enlargeRanking up in Rocket Racing is a lot easier than ranking up in the battle royale's Ranked Mode. The better you perform in a race in Ranked Racing, the more rank points you'll get. But if you perform poorly, you won't lose any rank points!
Up until Elite, Rocket Racing awards rank points regardless of where you finish in a race. Even if your car comes last, you'll get some rank points.
So, ranking up in Fortnite's Rocket Racing doesn't really require skill. You'll still need to grind dozens of matches to achieve Gold, but you can race stress-free, knowing that how well you do doesn't matter a whole lot. The grind will go by faster if you place highly, though!
Lastly, make sure you've selected Ranked Racing if you want to rank up in Rocket Racing. Neither the Tutorial nor individual tracks award rank points.
