Fortnite Patch Notes: Update 21.51 (September 2022)
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is coming to an end, and with it arrives the patch notes for update v21.51. Sadly, it's not the biggest update that we've ever seen for Fortnite - that will likely arrive with the beginning of Chapter 3 Season 4. Fortnite Patch Notes: Update 21.51 (September 2022)
Fire With Fire Week
Click to enlargeThings are set to hot up this week as more flame-related weapons are added back into Fortnite. Between September 7th (2pm BST) and September 13th (2pm BST), Fire with Fire week will be fully underway. Returning to the game are the Primal Flame Bow and the Dragon's Breath Shotgun, all old favourites from Fortnite's past.
In addition, the spawn rate of Firefly Jars has been increased, so the flames should be flowing throughout the next week. To combat this, Chug Cannons have also increased in their numbers, so you should be able to keep the fires at bay. Special Quests relating to the hot new equipment are now in the game, so get going if you want to earn some easy XP.
Fortnite Purchase, Cancellation And Social Settings
Click to enlargeThe biggest changes to Fortnite this time around are actually in the Purchase, Cancellation, and Social Settings. When purchasing anything from the Fortnite store, you now need to hold down the purchase button for a length of time instead of simply clicking. This should hopefully reduce the number of accidental purchases made in Fortnite.
In addition, the purchase cancellation window is now extended. You can now cancel cosmetic purchases up to 24 hours after your initial purchase, earning a refund of the V-Bucks you spent. However, this return period is voided if you equip the cosmetic item before the 24 hours is up - so be careful!
When saving a new payment method on the Fortnite store, the game now gives you a yes or no answer in the menu. This is opposed to the checkbox system which was easy to misinterpret.
In the chat settings, there are new privacy options that parents will surely find useful. There's now an option to select between 'Everybody', 'Friends and Teammates', 'Friends Only', or 'Nobody'. These options have also been added to the Parental Controls menu.
