Although it is not clarified on the Epic website what critical damage is, fans of the game have taken to Reddit. The reigning theory is that to deal critical damage in Fortnite, you will need to get headshots. This has been the theory for a while, and certain weapons can give you a better chance of getting critical damage.

This challenge isn't going to be easy, though, as popping headshots can be one of the more challenging parts of Fortnite. Our recommendation would be to use shotguns for up-close gameplay, and anything with a scope if you're shooting at far-away enemies.
