Cait Sith, alongside Red XIII and Yuffie, is one of the new party members available in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - but unfortunately, it takes a while to get this feline friend into your party.

Much like Wutai's most famous materia hunter, Cait Sith isn't in your party at the beginning of the game, and you must instead wait until a specific moment within the story to use him in combat scenarios.

The wait is definitely worth it, as he (and his moogle friend) have plenty of tricks you'll love using over and over again, and he can easily feature in the best party combination.

When do you get Cait Sith?

Cait Sith joins your party at the end of Chapter 8, after you have completed the Corel Prison section, as the remote-controlled feline and his strange fortune-telling moogle have become quite fond of Cloud and the gang.

You will first meet him when you reach the Gold Saucer, as he plays a key role in the festivities of the minigame-filled theme park. While he will be more than helpful in your journey through the Saucer and the Dustbowl, it is only once the trouble has cleared that you'll be able to play as him and use him in your party.

Is Cait Sith good in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

I've had a lot of fun using Cait Sith in Rebirth, and he quickly became one of my favourite characters to use in my party. One of his key mechanics is a dice roll that has a number of different outcomes - so having Luck Up - which is one of the best Materia - and items will help you ensure the best results in the chaos.

Furthermore, he has some of my favourite Synergy Abilities too - which often involve another party member hurling his moogle into the enemy to great effect. While the competition for the two free party slots is fierce in Rebirth, I'd definitely recommend giving Cait Sith a go as you'd be surprised at how much fun you can have.

You'll be able to find more tips and tricks for Rebirth on our Final Fantasy homepage, including every single Chocobo location, where to find all of the hidden Cactuars in Costa del Sol, Card Carnival solutions, and everything you need to know about Moogle Medals.
