The Dead Island 2 Officer's Lockbox key can be used on the Officer's Secure Lockbox, which is found located in the armory of the Venice Beach police station. 

Before you can trigger the zombie who holds the Officer's Lockbox key to spawn, you'll first need to meet certain criteria in the game.

How to find the Officer's Lockbox key

Once you make your way to Venice Beach as part of the main story, you'll be directed into a safehouse called the Blue Crab where you can pick up more quests.

• One of the NPCs here will offer a side quest called Cold Pork, which tasks you with breaking into the overrun police station and grabbing some guns. 
• At this point, you won't be able to find the Officer's Lockbox key location in Dead Island 2 just yet - so follow the quest to unlock the police station and its armoury.

• Once the Cold Pork quest is complete, head back toward the police station and head west to the beach. You should encounter a named zombie called Officer McKenzie, who is holding the Dead Island 2 Officer's Lockbox key.
• Kill him to grab the key from his corpse, and then head back into the police station to open the Officer's Secure Lockbox and take the weapon inside.
