The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty download size is significant, so fans will want to start downloading and installing it soon. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is the first and only expansion for the open-world RPG, and it is a massive addition to the game.

Click to enlargeThe download size for Phantom Liberty on PC is listed as 70 GB, according to the Steam page and the GOG listing. However, there is reason to believe this does not represent the download size of the expansion. This is the same file size as is listed on the main Cyberpunk 2077 game Steam page, leading us to believe there might be more to this.
What seems likely is that rather than displaying Phantom Liberty with its own separate file size, it will be incorporated into the overall Cyberpunk 2077 file size. It could well be that players will need to download 70 GB worth of files in order to install the expansion and the 2.0 update, but this will not be on top of the existing file size for Cyberpunk 2077.
Unfortunately, this muddies the waters to the extent that we cannot say for certain how big of a download of expansion will be.
As of right now, there has been no confirmation of when PC players may be able to pre-load the expansion, but the 2.0 update went live on September 21, clocking in at just over 23 GB. Whether Phantom Liberty will be much bigger than that remains to be seen.

Click to enlargeWhile the PlayStation store does not list a Phantom Liberty download size, the Xbox store lists both Cyberpunk 2077 and the bundle of the base game with the expansion as being approximately 80.43 GB.
This ties into what we said about the PC version, that the listed file size is the total size of the base game and the expansion combined. As such, we still cannot determine how big of a download the Phantom Liberty expansion will be.
That said, we can confirm that PlayStation and Xbox fans will be able to pre-load Phantom Liberty up to 48 hours before launch on Tuesday, September 26. If you are concerned about the time it will take to download the expansion, make sure you get started when it becomes available on Sunday.
