As you are exploring the Rosymorn Monastery, it’s possible that you found a locked room with a Guardian conjuration sitting in the middle of it. You can use some methods in order to get into the room, but once you do, you have to decide how you dispatch the Guardian of Faith.

They have an aura around them where, if you were to stand within it, you would take an immense amount of damage. However, the enemy doesn’t attack on sight - it will only attack you if you were to pick up the Ceremonial Battleaxe off of the ground, or if you step into the aura it has around it. Otherwise, you are completely safe.

In order to defeat this Guardian of Faith, the best way to dispatch them is to deal damage using ranged attacks. This can be via magic, a bow, bombs or flasks. You need to try not to move too much when fighting the Guardian, as they do have an attack of opportunity if you were to turn away from them.

Once you’ve defeated the Guardian of Faith, you’ll be able to run off with the Ceremonial Battleaxe which you will need for a puzzle further inside Rosymorn Monastery.

That’s everything you need to know about beating the Guardian of Faith in Baldur’s Gate 3.
