There are plenty of significant characters that you will need to find throughout your time in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Thrumbo is one of them. If you’re struggling to find them, we’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a huge game, with lots of different areas to explore and quests to find. While you’re exploring the Lower City, you may stumble across a quest that requires you to find Thrumbo, a necromancer's zombie servant living in the city. You’ll also have two options when you eventually arrive at Thrumbo, and it’s your choice what you do in the game.

Here is how to find Thrumbo in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Where is Thrumbo in BG3?

Thrumbo can be found in Vonvayn’s Mansion in Lower City. This is close to the shore. You can easily get there from the Heapside Strand waypoint. Go down the three flights of stairs and head across the pier. There may be some enemies there if this is your first time going to this part of the map. Once you’ve taken them out, head into the house with the stairs next to the pier and you’ll find Thrumbo hiding in the wardrobe to your right.

Should you help or kill Thrumbo?

You have two options in front of you. You can either help Thrumbo or kill him. He reveals that Mystic Carrion is a Mummy Lord who murdered him and his friends to turn them into zombies. You have the option to either kill Thrumbo or help him defeat Mystic Carrion.

If you kill him, you can loot the jar of Mystic Carrion’s heart from his body and take it back to the necromancer. In doing so, you’ll receive the Torch of Revocation as a reward.

Helping him is the better option, but it’s entirely your choice if you decide to help him and kill the Mystic Carrion. If you do help him and successfully kill the Mystic Carrion, you'll be rewarded with a Crypt Lord Ring. This allows you to use a level six Create Undead spell. If you loot Mystic Carrion, you'll also get some fantastic items such as the Staff of Cherished Necromancy, Armour of the Sporekeeper and Veil of the Morning.

That’s everything you need to know about where to find Thrumbo and whether you should help him or not.
