Is Arma Reforger Crossplay And Cross Save?

Usually reserved for PC, Arma is a franchise that is known for its modding capabilities, spawning the likes of DayZ, but is Arma Reforger crossplay this time around?

At its core, Arma is a military simulation game with a dedicated and hardcore player base who take things very seriously. Arma Reforger is the latest instalment of the Arma franchise and is a bit of a detour from the traditional formula. Below, we'll be detailing a bit more about the game as well as answering the question of is Arma Reforger crossplay and does it have cross save functionality?

So, Arma Reforger, what is it? And how is it different from its predecessor Arma 3? Well, while it shares a similar feel to Arma 3, it is both different in setting and modes available.

First off, Arma Reforger is set in the Cold War era thus meaning you won't be finding any fancy drones or other latest tech in the game. It also features a much smaller map, Everon, which is 51km² in size, approximately 240km² less than Arma 3's Mediterranean island. This, therefore, means the gameplay and flow are much different, allowing for a bit more faster-paced combat.

Luckily, unlike Arma 3, Arma Reforger is available on different platforms. So, the question on many players' lips is if Arma Reforger has crossplay capabilities. Unfortunately, at this current time, Arma Reforger does not have crossplay. This is probably due to the mass modding capabilities of the game potentially creating a variety of issues between the two platforms.

However, we wouldn't rule Arma Reforger crossplay out just yet as the game is still in early access and although not announced, we might end up seeing crossplay functionality in the future.

Thankfully, although there is no current crossplay functionality for Arma Reforger, there are cross save capabilities, allowing you to share progression on both PC and Xbox if you use the same account. This is great for those that have both systems and want to test out the performance on both or even use the different control methods. It is also perfect for those who have friends on both Xbox or PC and would like to play with both without losing any of the hard work they've put in on their character.
