You may not know it, but many of gaming's biggest franchises are no longer developed by those who initially made them great. The Battlefield series has very few of the original developers working on those games, Call of Duty similarly, and you can count Halo, World of Warcraft, and a good many of your favourite long-running games.

Often the original developers of these titles leave the companies at similar times, creating new studios, and new exciting games.

And that is the case with ARC Raiders, a cooperative third-person shooter by the Stockholm-based Embark Studios. Created by the minds behind the Battlefield series, it was announced at the Games Awards in December 2021 and looked fairly far along in its development.

Here is all you need to know about ARC Raiders gameplay details, trailers, and more.

ARC Raiders: Gameplay trailers

So far, all we’ve gotten is one reveal-slash-gameplay trailer showing off what ARC Raiders will have in store for us. From what we can tell, a group of at least three players will have to take down enemies of varying sizes and quantities at once, using movement abilities such as grappling hooks and even jetpacks.

Looting those space robots will not only give you new weaponry but also access to additional gadgets which are going to assist us in the fight against the ARC. Based on the currently available information, there appears to be a class system of sorts with different Raiders being playable by players including the robot Lance and the human Celeste who both also appear in the trailer. A third unnamed raider also steps into action.

The setting appears to be in a dystopian future in which animals are still very much alive but humans are struggling against the threat from outer space. Especially some of the opening shots of the trailer look stunning and so a bunch of eye-candy can be expected from ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders: Platforms

ARC Raiders will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, as well as Windows PC via the Epic Store and even Steam.

Notice something? Yes, the last generation of consoles is missing. While that might be a problem for a lot of you who have been desperately trying to get their hands on a new-gen console, for those with access to them it opens the possibility of ARC Raiders making use of the full breadth of the new infrastructure of this generation.

According to their website, Embark Studios prides itself on innovation and pushing the boundaries and while the game appears to be a loot shooter first and foremost, finding creative strategic solutions via a sophisticated engine is one of the goals communicated for ARC Raiders.

We will continue to update this page with all the latest ARC Raiders info as we get it!
