The Haunting update for Warzone has received overwhelming praise from the Call of Duty community so far, with fans loving The Butcher and the Soul Capture Event rewards.

Despite this, one major change to the Massive Resurgence on October 18 caused significant backlash from fans toward Infinity Ward.

The devs decided to reduce the player count in Massive Resurgence from 150 to 100, with no explanation. This led to widespread anger.

Now, the devs have finally released a response revealing why they made the reduction, and it's been described as "awful."

Warzone devs reveal why they reduced Massive Resurgence player count

Taking to Twitter on October 19, Warzone devs Infinity Ward decided to explain why they made the decision to reduce the Massive Resurgence player count from 150 to 100.

Despite speculation it was due to server issues, the devs revealed that it was a result of them listening to "feedback" that "Massive Resurgence felt a bit too chaotic." According to them, this provides slightly more "breathing room for Players to experience all The Haunting has to offer."

The team also made it clear once again that the adjustment from 150 to 100 will only last for the duration of The Haunting.

As expected, Warzone fans are unhappy with this explanation, describing it as "awful" and claiming it's proof Infinity Ward is completely out of touch with the community. For some, this announcement is the final straw, and they've completely lost hope that the devs can deliver competent updates.

"Your play Testers are awful, your marketing team is awful, you listen to literally no one... you made the absolute worst changes that none of your fans wanted," said one user, with another arguing, "Guys, this is just embarrassing."

With Sledgehammer delivering so many fan-requested features with MW3, Infinity Ward stock is truly at an all-time low. Decisions like this that go against what the community want are only leading to more and more criticism.
