Call of Duty has been experimenting with cosmetics that appeal to all corners of the community, with sweaty Ranked skins being joined by mil-sim costumes and controversial gimp suits that are loved by the Fortnite kids.

But there has yet to have been a more divisive category of aesthetic items than those that represent anime, as the bright purples and pinks are despised by the boots-on-the-ground veterans.

But shortly after a cheeky "UwU" Easter egg had been found, Call of Duty has announced a new Operator. Safe to say, old-school Modern Warfare 2 fans are fuming.

With Season 4 on the horizon, Call of Duty has now revealed a range of characters that will come to the series over the next few weeks.

One of those is Izanami, who lands in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 as a tracer pack bundle, coming with a tight Spiderman-looking wetsuit and Game of Thrones-esque silver braided hair.

Izanami will arrive alongside more Ghost cosmetics, a new Farah skin, a crossover with The Boys featuring The Butcher, an "extraordinary" unannounced campaign character, and a furry Wolf - all to replenish the void left from NICKMERCS' axed character.

Shortly after being announced, fans immediately populated Reddit threads to blast the character. "They forgot how to model faces due to the sheer abundance of masked and or recycled old chars," said one fan.

"If they kept the anime stuff to only the emblems, calling cards and charms, it would be fine, but THIS? What in the goddam f**k?" said another angered player.

Others took aim at her apparel. "I think she's wearing a military uniform that's opened up and folded over so we can see her spider man t*ts," added a further fan.

It's clear to see that not everyone is looking forward to the arrival of Izanami, although she looks more like a modern-day Targaryen than an anime character...
