MW2 players discover 'UwU' easter egg on anime blueprint
Skins have become a huge part of the Call of Duty franchise, with the devs regularly updating the store with new cosmetics in various themes.
While they're undeniably popular with the community, they can cause a lot of anger - as seen with the Rat Pack bundle that players argued was encouraging camping. Despite this, there's no doubt that a massive amount of effort goes into the design of these skins.
This effort has been recently showcased after members of the community discovered an 'UwU' easter egg on the anime-themed BAS-P blueprint. Surprisingly, it wasn't found by inspecting the gun or looking at it in the Gunsmith menus, but instead, is only viewable through an in-game bug.

While using the BAS-P 'Notice This' blueprint in the Firing Range, Reddit user resfan was hit with a long-standing ADS bug that's been a problem in MW2 since launch. When aiming down sight, your scope or iron sight is replaced with the back of a round that completely blocks your screen.
Although this would usually be frustrating, resfan noticed that the skin designers had imprinted a unique easter egg on the back of the rounds that fit the anime skin theme. As showcased above, the rounds read 'so spicy UwU ouchie 9mm,' which is clearly an extra detail the devs decided to add as a joke.
Not only that, the centre of the round even has a cracked love heart symbol and has been coloured purple to match the style of the gun. In case you don't know, uWu is the stylised emoticon that represents a cute face. It's not particularly CoD, but it works here.

Click to enlargeA lot of users in the thread took the time to praise the devs, claiming, "The prices on these skins are ludicrous but I gotta give credit to those who make them for such attention to detail."
Despite this, others looked at the easter egg more cynically, arguing, "This is why this bug is still happening... They just want to show us the writing details."
Either way, it's interesting the MW2 designers are now adding Easter eggs that can only be accessed via bugs. While it's exciting for those who make the discovery, some gamers will undoubtedly argue that this proves that the devs are not taking fixing problems with the game seriously.
