"Helllllllo, Sidney." When it comes to horror icons, the likes of Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers have carved themselves a legacy as retro greats. More recent to the frightening flock is Scream's Ghostface, however, that hasn't stopped the masked menace from racking up quite the body count.

Slashing their way into our lives for Wes Craven's Scream in 1996, the many Ghostfaces have six movies under their belts, with a seventh on the way from Happy Death Day's Christopher Landon. While Ghostface is simply the name of the guise the killers have taken, it hasn't stopped the creation from becoming a horror legend.

Ghostface teased for Mortal Kombat 1

Given Ghostface's legacy, it's no surprise the murderous mask has popped up in numerous video games over the years. Following an expected appearance in Dead by Daylight to a surprise crossover with Call of Duty for its Halloween spooktacular, is Ghostface now ready to join Mortal Kombat 1

Twitter account @Ghostface_4_MK1 has found some interesting dialogue lines that definitely sound like they're pointing to the Scream slasher as an upcoming Kombat Pack fighter. Omni-Man says, "Takes more than a mask and a knife to scare me." There's also a line from Takeda saying, "A mask and a cloak don't scare me."

Although unconfirmed, putting these two lines together definitely points to Ghostface's inclusion as an unannounced Kombat Pack fighter. Mortal Kombat has become known for its pop culture crossovers since the introduction of Kratos and Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat 9.

Who are Mortal Kombat 1's Kombat Pack fighters?

So far, Mortal Kombat 1 has confirmed Kombat Pack fighter slots for Invincible's Omni-Man, The Boys' Homelander, and John Cena's Peacemaker, but there are more out there. The likes of Harley Quinn and Doomslayer have also been leaked, while Travis Scott is another big rumour.

The whispers of a Megan Fox fighter have seemingly been debunked thanks to the fact she's playing Nitara, although there's a chance she's pulling double duty. Thanks to the latest leaks, it could be time to add Ghostface to the list. We likely have a bit of a wait, with the first Mortal Kombat 1 DLC launching in spring 2024.
