There was little debate that Mortal Kombat was going to be pretty nauseating in its own way for its comeback. The game series has always been dedicated to its roots that have spent decades being watered by blood and viscera.

It seems that with this new approach to the timeline of MK, it's like a total rug pull for the series. Even so, it's bloody and gory as ever, and fans are loving it for this reason alone. Now, it's getting a little more queasy thanks to a Mortal Kombat 1 first-person mod.

Mortal Kombat 1's first-person mod is nauseating

Twitter user ermaccer has shared a look at a new Mortal Kombat 1 mod that is putting players truly in the shoes of the contestants of Mortal Kombat, and it's pretty horrible to watch.

The video shows off a player fighting as Johnny Cage in a scrap with Baraka, performing a brutal fatality. The movements from the first-person perspective are so quick and jittery that it becomes tough to watch.

The YouTube link that comes attached is pretty similar too, with movements being so lightning-fast that your brain will hardly be able to keep up with it all. If you suffer from motion sickness, be warned that this probably isn't the mod for you.

The mod looks great and does the job incredibly well - it just serves as an indicator that ideas for a VR version of the MK series might not work so well.

Fans react to Mortal Kombat's VR Mode

"I wonder what the fatalities would be like from the victim's point of view!" wonders one particularly perverse comment. "Forced to lie there and be tortured to death, all in front of your face." Aye, sounds wicked. "This reminds me waaaay too much of Dying Light 2," adds another commenter.

A third concluded, "It is strange how good is First Person View in MK1, makes me think this engine once had another mode like a First Person View Kript like MKX, or maybe Invasions was a mini Konquest and they just didnt wanna invest in giant worlds for the final game."

Regardless of how good the first-person Mortal Kombat mod actually is, it's going to take some getting used to. We deal with enough ickiness in the game - we're not sure we're ready to bring that into real-life nausea.
