Rockstar's reputation has put it in a bizarre spot in the gaming industry. On the one hand, it's responsible for some of the most recognisable video games ever made, with GTA V being arguably the biggest cultural bombshell that the industry has ever seen. Elsewhere, Red Dead Redemption 2 became a benchmark of video game quality.

On the other hand, Rockstar doesn't always do enough for its fans. Players are frequently upset with the company for its failure to maintain Red Dead Online and its half-assed attempt at reviving classic titles in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. And now, some think that the company might be getting a bit big for its boots.

Is Rockstar Trolling Fans With Red Dead Online?

Yet another weekly update has arrived in Red Dead Online, and as ever, fans are frustrated by the fact that it's basically empty - never actually offering anything to do. After months of claims that the company has abandoned the game, it's certainly not a good look to provide such generally meaningless updates... that just keep coming.

Gamers are starting to seethe, as with the many times that #SaveRedDeadOnline has trended on Twitter, with every passing week it seems less and less likely that the team behind the game has actually missed the fan outcry. With every new update, outrage grows and grows, as even die-hard fans have had more than enough.

Players Clap Back At Rockstar's Update

In the replies to the recent update tweet from Rockstar, everyone has clearly had enough of the game's lack of support and are lashing out at the company directly.

We don't know what's next for the Red Dead name, but unlike Bully, we doubt Rockstar is about to abandon its cowboy caper just yet. Still, there's no news on the mythical Red Dead Redemption 3, meaning RDO is probably going to be milked for a lot longer.

Unlike GTA Online, Rockstar just doesn't have the same love for RDO. Maybe it's too busy raking in the coins for San Andreas to worry about what's going on in the Wild West? Fans are clearly sick of the lack of support from Rockstar, and they're right to kick up a fuss. Red Dead Online may as well be dead in the water - but we aren't willing to let go just yet.
