It's been five years since Arthur Morgan rode into town and rustled up one of the greatest video games of all time. While 2010's Red Dead Redemption already set an impressive bar for Rockstar Games - away from its tried and tested GTA - that was nothing compared to the sprawling frontier of its 2018 sequel.

We know Red Dead Redemption 2 is big as it spans five fictional states of the Wild West, however, after five years of hunting serial killers and finding ghost trains, you might think we've discovered all there is to discover. Think again, as players claim to have discovered a hidden Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat code.

The days of scrawling GTA cheats on a scrap of paper and pinning it next to your PS2 are long gone, although the spirit of them lives on. RDR2 has plenty of well-known cheats, with the likes of "Death is Silence (giving Arthur stealth gear) and "Greed is now a virtue" (giving you $500) being easily found.

Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes are found in newspapers or scrawled in random places, and now the game's Reddit claims to have unearthed a hidden one hiding in plain sight. "Keep Your Dreams Simple" is found on the frozen lake near where Flaco Hernandez is camped.

Typing in "Keep Your Dreams Simple" to the game's cheat menu spawns a wagon. It's not the most useful cheat, and while some have found it before, the comments prove a lot of you didn't know about it. One wrote, "I've found this before but never knew cheat codes existed til reading this thread. Played about 300 hours at least."

Someone else wrote, "Just learning this game had cheat codes and I have 2 100+ hr playthroughs under my belt. Time for a 3rd 100+ hr playthrough I guess." Be warned, though, that activating cheats means you can't save your game or earn any achievements.

What's next for Red Dead?

Despite the rave review of the recent Red Dead Redemption Switch port, there was disappointment that it wasn't the long-rumoured new-gen remake of the original. Added to this, leaks of a new-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 have currently led to nothing.

While we wait to saddle up for Red Dead Redemption 3, we're told not to believe the hype. Rockstar has hinted at the idea of a threequel, but has stopped short of making it official. We'd be surprised if remakes and upgrades don't come in the interim, but for now, we're starved of Red Dead content.
