New Rockstar Hires Are Sparking GTA 6 Development Rumours

Rockstar seem to be… pretty busy.

Though it was revealed that the team wouldn't be working on remasters of Red Dead Redemption II or GTA IV as hopes as a result of the failures of GTA: The Trilogy, the team still have plenty on their plate right now. As they're, you know, making the most anticipated sequel in history.

Development on the game seems to, so far, have been in the very early stages, but that certainly hasn't stopped fans from going absolutely feral with the knowledge that a new mainline Grand Theft Auto game is on the way.

But now, it looks like the new game is finally kicking into gear with its development.

Rockstar Is Hiring A Lot Of Staff

Fans think that Rockstar Games is entering a new, exciting phase of development on GTA VI, as they're hiring for a lot of roles. And we mean a lot.

As first eyed by PCGamesN, it looks as though Rockstar is hiring for 227 roles across the many studios all around the world, with the last few days spitting out 70 new jobs alone.

The jobs span across the teams at Rockstar and all are diverse roles, looking at specific aspects of game dev like physics, writing and design - and though many of these jobs could be focussing on separate Rockstar projects like the ongoing GTA Online, a lot of fans have speculated that this means that GTA VI is entering a new phase of development.

Is GTA VI Ramping Up Development?

While this hiring push could just be a bit of a coincidence, it seems like much too large a sweep of recruitment to not be a part of something pretty big. And to be fair, we don't know much about Rockstar's inner workings, but we can say for certain that GTA VI is a big undertaking.

While there's a chance it isn't a push for GTA VI, it's what looks the most likely at the moment - meaning that development is really starting to kick off now. It's good news for us as fans, as it means that Rockstar knows they need all hands on deck, and that the game is on its way to us as fast as it can make it. Lovely.
