Apex Legends has revealed their Season 6 character - Rampart.

Season 6: Boosted is due to begin on August 18, and brings with it a new Legend, gun and crafting system.

As well as the Boosted Battle Pass, which includes over 100 exclusive items including Legendary skins, Apex Packs, new Holo-Sprays, and more, Apex fans will also be receiving a brand new crafting system.

The Volt energy SMG has been sat in the Apex Legends files for yonks, and is finally coming to the game. In fact, Apex dataminer Shrugtal first noticed the appearance of the gun in the game files back in Season 3. The Volt first featured in the Titanfall series of games (also by Respawn Entertainment).

Rampart will be the new Apex Legend in Season 6, and dataminers can rejoice that their findings came to fruition - although not in the way they thought.

Instead of being a large buff man, Rampart is a badass woman of Indian-heritage, bringing along her machine-gun turret 'Sheila' for the ride.

The Apex Legends site describes Rampart as: "An expert modder who made her name in underground fight clubs, Rampart talks big and has the ballistics to back it up."

In code earlier revealed by dataminer Biast12, the character select subtitle for the character is ā€œBase of Fireā€. Her abilities may include:

AMPED COVER (TACTICAL)

ā€œBuild cover with an upper barrier that blocks incoming shots and boosts the damage of outgoing shots."

EMPLACED HMG (ULTIMATE)

"Place a mounted machine gun that anyone can use. High ammo capacity, long reload time."

FIXER (PASSIVE)

"Swapping to melee equips a wrench you can use to repair structures."

COVER FIRE (PASSIVE)

"Firing from cover overcharges your gun damage."

GUNNER (PASSIVE)

"Machine guns have increased magazine capacity and reload faster."

Apex Legends Season 6: Boosted drops August 18.
