When someone says Rockstar Games, what do you think of? For many, it's the mean streets of the Grand Theft Auto series, and for others, it's the cowboy capers of Red Dead Redemption. Still, it's easy to forget that Rockstar's catalogue has held everything from Bully to Manhunt, with many asking if they'll return.

While Rockstar seemingly has its plate full with GTA 6 - yeah, no pressure creating the biggest game of all time - there's a cryptic tease that the acclaimed developer could be working on something else. Excitingly, it looks like this mystery project could be some sort of VR release, so let's dive a little deeper.

Is Rockstar Games working on a mystery VR game?

VR "Undisclosed Rockstar Game" found in actor's resume

Over on Reddit, fans spotted Michael Ursu's resume listing "Undisclosed Rockstar Game" under the VR section. The voice actor has minor roles in upcoming games like Silent Hill: Ascension, an untitled Borderlands game, and a miHoYo game. However, this is the first we've heard of a Rockstar VR title.

As Ursu has now deleted the evidence (although it's archived), it suggests there's more to the story. Aside from publishing L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, Rockstar isn't known for its foray into VR, meaning this could be a big one. Also, it's good to note the team has its fingers in other pies instead of just GTA 6

It didn't take long for the rumour mill to fly into overdrive that this could be related to GTA 6, but to honest, we're not buying it. One critic grumbled, "Oh for f**ks sake, now we're going to get a million videos by MrW*nkFTW and the like about how GTAVI VR support is confirmed lol."

What is the mystery Rockstar VR game?

Looking into the realms of realistic leaks, it's likely we're getting a VR port of something from the Rockstar library. Considering the new-gen remake of Bully was reportedly made and scrapped, we'd happily take a VR version of the OG - but we can only dream.

We've previously shown off a VR mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, although that's just another pipe dream. Some have pointed out that with GTA V being a decade old, it could be due its own VR revamp akin to what Bethesda did with Skyrim

Finally (as noted by TheGamer) a VR port of 2004's GTA: San Andreas was announced back in 2021 but has gone quiet since. Rockstar news is usually related to a potential GTA 6 release window, so it's refreshing that something else could be in the works. Here's hoping it does better than the GTA Trilogy
