It's only taken eight months, but Infinity Ward is finally fixing its worst map ever. Modern Warfare 2's Santa Sena Border Crossing is set to undergo surgery.
Santa Sena has often been dubbed as the worst Call of Duty map of all time, combining a ludicrously linear design with explosive cars that are guaranteed to dismember you at least once per game. Now though, as of Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Reloaded, Santa Sena is being resolved.
Infinity Ward reveals Santa Sena changes for MW2 Season 4 Reloaded
As of Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Reloaded, the vehicles on Santa Sena Border Crossing will not be able to cause fatal injuries, which will specifically increase the pacing at the start of games and continue to relieve the explosions throughout the game.
The endless rows of vehicles can still appear to be exploded, but they will no longer cause a huge boom and omit damage. Instead, they'll just change their appearance and fit the aesthetic of the ruined level.
The developers confirmed these changes in the Season 4 Reloaded patch notes, stating, "The vehicles in Santa Seña Border Crossing will no longer explode. They can still be damaged, but cannot kill Players."
Modern Warfare 2 fixes some major player gripes
Many fans have already expressed that the developers should have implemented these fixes a matter of months ago, with one specific fan taking to Twitter to say, "Wow it's like they could’ve done this at the beginning of the game when everyone complained about it."
Others simply jibed, "late." Alongside this major fix to Santa Sena, there will be some balances to the firing range too, which will help highlight reactive camos in the testing arena and correct the hit registration on the dummies.
