Even though it's likely to be years away right now, fans can't help themselves but to be excited about the new Grand Theft Auto game.

It's hard to blame them, as after all, GTA V is the most profitable entertainment product of all time. For 10 years, it's proved its worth by giving players heists, supercars, military bases, and ghostly easter eggs abound to muck around with.

Chaos has been rife in Los Santos since GTA V launched, and even though we're a decade since then, it doesn't look to be slowing down. According to one insider, there's a chance that our beloved GTA Online has problems that are harming what's yet to come.

Insider claims GTA Online problems won't be fixed in GTA VI

A new claim from one insider has suggested that problems present in GTA Online might not be ironed out by the time GTA 6 comes to life.

Tez2 is a popular scooper known for their knowledge of Rockstar titles. They've claimed that GTA 6 won't have its own dedicated servers, meaning that problems that are already lively in GTA Online won't change by the time the new title's online mode comes around.

"Take-Two rejected a proposal for dedicated servers a few years ago. They considered it cost-prohibitive for them," they say on the GTA Forums site.

"So, explosion shenanigans may still occur on VI, because of how explosions are streamed from the closest player to them. Although, Rockstar keeps adding checks to explosion native functions. Much like GTAO recent Drug Wars update."

Of course, these claims are unconfirmed right now - but there's every chance that they could come to be true.

Will GTA 6 replace GTA Online?

This seems to indicate that if dedicated servers are off the table for whatever online offerings exist in GTA 6, then GTA Online could be subject to a drastic halting to make way for the new experience. It's totally up in the air right now, as any hints of a new online GTA are vague.

Much like Call of Duty introduced Warzone 2 at the cost of the original, it's not out of the question that we could have to say goodbye to the GTA Online that we know and love. We'll have to wait and see what comes of this news. Regardless, it's a little bit nerve-wracking. Tell your cars you love them before it's too late.
