Halo Pros Fuming After Devs Mock Lack Of In-Game Updates By Releasing A Cookbook
343 Industries

Who needs a fully functioning game of Halo Infinite when you can eat like an intergalactic warrior? Certainly not the professional community, that's for sure. Lay down your controllers and PCs and pick up a spatula, as the future of the Halo franchise is making sure everyone eats like Master Chief.

Master Chief or Masterchef, it doesn't particularly matter for 343 Industries apparently, and their latest release has left their professional player base with their jaws dropped, but not in the way they intended.

Halo Cookbook Leaves Starved Pro Community Furious

Halo professionals thought they'd hit the jackpot with the release of Infinite, as the title offered so much promise through months of preparation and delays. The launch was a storm and even attracted World Champions in Call of Duty to switch over to the title amid worries of their own

However, the developers have yet to touch Halo Infinite since its launch, seemingly going on holiday after years of preparing it for release. Now, the pro community is becoming tired and weary with the buggy game and broken ranked experience, and feel like they've been pizza-tossed aside with their latest recipe.

Having toyed with their own TV show and a range of outside-game experiences, 343 Industries released a Halo Cookbook, which comes with over 70 recipes including "awesome appetizers, sumptuous snacks, decadent desserts, and main dishes to fuel even the hungriest of Spartans."

Set to release in August, fans of the franchise can pre-order a Kindle version of the cookbook for $13.99 or $39.99 as a hardcover, and could have been a great little coup if their bread-and-butter wasn't rotting to the core.

After the announcement, a range of pros took to the replies to 'whinge', with FaZe Clan's Eric "Snip3down" Wrona saying, "Guess April fools is an everyday thing over there," whilst Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff added, "it's honestly a bit funny at this point. A f**king cookbook?"

OpTic Gaming's Tommy "Lucid" Wilson also didn't see the funny side, commenting, "they were seriously not kidding about this broader audience initiative," a clear jibe at the developers' choice to spend resources on recipes and TV shows rather than the game itself.

Some fans did defend the developers by saying that they "highly doubt the people who program the game are the same ones who put together this book," but it won't stop a sour taste lingering in the mouth of the Halo players.
