Rumours that a Halo game may have been in the works since the start of 2022 have been spreading since some 343 Industries employee profiles which seem to hint at the project were discovered.

Though nothing is concrete, the profiles certainly seem to suggest that something is being developed behind the scenes.

Employee profiles hint at a new Halo title

The Halo franchise has been relatively slow in recent years, and with recent layoffs impacting the 343 Industries team, many players were concerned for the future of the franchise.

That said, it seems all hope is not lost as developers have been dropping hints that a new game may have been in the works for almost two years.

As reported by Twitter user IdleSloth84_, Justin Dinges’, the Art Director, LinkedIn page, suggests 343 Industries has been working on the next unannounced Halo release since April 2022.

Dinges’ LinkedIn page states that from April 2022 to March 2023, he “worked on Halo's next unannounced release.”

Similarly, they say Ian Slutz, the Senior Character System Designer, has been building player systems and assets in UE5 which, while not confirmed to be relating to the next Halo title, most likely is.

Fans are hopeful that a new Halo game could be coming soon

Up until this point, the only expected new Halo content revolved around Halo Infinite’s live service offering and the upcoming second season of the TV show.

Naturally, this means a lot of fans of the franchise are excited at the prospect of new content coming soon.

One Twitter user said: “New Halo game in development? Can’t wait.”

Another stated: “New game? Thank God I'm ready, give me more story.”

Other users questioned what was happening with the Certain Affinity title which is reportedly in the works, though no clear answer has been provided as to whether these are the same or different projects.

We will have to wait and see whether or not new Halo content will be coming soon or if we may still have a bit longer to wait.
